The CityLife Shopping District is a unique, innovative and premium retail destination in Milan, in the heart of the CityLife project, a modern and beautiful urban space that combines a residential area and offices, representing one of the largest urban redevelopment and mixed-use projects in Italy and in Europe. The CityLife project and its Shopping District are soon to become Milan’s new and vibrant heart; the starchitects involved (Zaha Hadid, Arata Isozaki and Daniel Libeskind) are the authors of the great contemporary architecture of the area, together with Mauro Galantino and One Works, where modernity harmoniously coexists with nature and the territory.
What are the strengths of the CityLife Shopping District? Undoubtedly, the premium brand positioning and the top quality services that will contribute to make it a highly attractive shopping destination for both the neighbourhood and visitors coming from Milan and beyond. It is a unique project being at the heart of a larger mix-used redevelopment, that means it can benefit from distinctive design and also great accessibility due to direct access to Line 5 (Lilla) of the subway network, and is also easy to reach by car, thanks to its proximity to major urban road networks and its ample parking spaces (including 1,000 private ones and 700 in the two multi-storey public car parks), directly connected to the Shopping District.
The CityLife Shopping District consists of an enclosed mall split on 2 floors connected, through an amazing Piazza, with an open air pedestrian mall that links the skyscrapers with the residential area and the rest of the city. With a catchment area of 700,000 inhabitants and 32,000 sqm of GLA, it will offer an innovative tenant mix with 100 units devoted to shopping, restaurants, services, leisure and entertainment. The centre will also include a multiplex cinema with 1,200 seats and a sport/health club.
In collaboration with Sonae Sierra -the International Property Company that is providing all the necessary professional services during the development and construction phases, as well as Asset and Property Management after the opening of the Shopping District- the leasing phase is in full swing, and the company is evaluating proposals from the many brands which are interested in being part of this great project, which is expected to open in 2017.
At CityLife, we feel and share the growing excitement around the Shopping District, and look forward to seeing it complete and unfold its full potential. ab
